Tammy E. Mondry
Tammy Mondry has been a licensed Physical Therapist since 1989, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. She obtained her Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions. Tammy is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and has been board certified by the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) since 2001. Tammy is also a Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, obtaining her training through the University of Northern Colorado Rocky Mountain Cancer Rehabilitation Institute.
Tammy was trained by Guenter Klose and received her lymphedema certification from the Lerner Lymphedema Services Academy of Lymphatic Studies in 1997. She began her career in lymphedema at the Naval Medical Center San Diego by developing their lymphedema and cancer rehabilitation programs. She then went on to open her first private practice in San Diego, New Horizons Physical Therapy, in 2004. She and her husband now own and operate Cancer Therapy Specialists, an oncology rehabilitation practice providing individualized prescriptive exercise therapy and advanced lymphedema care to those who have been diagnosed with cancer and / or lymphedema.
Tammy has taught professional continuing education courses, lectured at universities, presented at professional conferences, and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals regarding the evaluation and treatment of lymphedema. She previously served as a content expert for UpToDate regarding the treatment of lymphedema and continues to provide expert medical reviews of challenging lymphedema cases world-wide for Teladoc Health, Inc.
